About The Twisted Pine

In 1974 JB Besterfeldt moved to Breckenridge as professional ski patrolman. He worked at Breckenridge ski area for four years. Then he began to think about a year-round profession.  He had a friend that owned a fur and leather store in Estes Park, Colorado. JB asked his friend if he would be interested in expanding his business to Summit County, Colorado. JB looked for a high-traffic area to Exquisite Fur Coats for Women at the Twisted Pinesee if he could sell fur and leather goods from a roadside stand.

JB found a location in Frisco in the Antlers Trading Post parking lot. He set up camp with a trailer and built wooden racks to hang his wears outdoors.  He had a great summer business and decided he needed a winter location. Lincoln West Mall was being built that year. He rented space in the mall and the rest is history.

The Twisted Pine Fur & Leather of Breckenridge is still in the Mall 30 years later. Although the merchandise has become more sophisticated since his humble beginnings on the side of the road, JB and his vision remains the same – provide customers with unique and distinctive quality products in a friendly and comfortable shopping environment.
